When, Where, Why?

We are studying some of the major periods and people in our world’s history over the next few weeks.  What I would like to know is, if you had to live in a different time period, when and where would you choose and why?  Be detailed, giving good reasons and think about your audience!

  1. I would personly live in the war time to be in the war, but if that deos not work out then I would probably see what it would be like to live in that big situation in the 19 century.

    • I wouldn’t really like to live in the war times because my city would probably get bombed. I would absolutely hate going into the war.

  2. Ancient Greece – I would choose this period in history because it would enable me to discover and separate fact from fiction. I would also be able to witness the great inventions that we still use today such as the wheel.

    • The ancient Greeks did contribute a lot to modern life but I’m not sure you can give them the invention of the wheel, that was invented thousands of years before in Asia during the Neolithic period.

  3. I would live in the late victorian times because the clothes they wore were posh and fancy and just to see how hard it really was to live and earn a decent wage to feed the family. I would also experience the inventions like car’s, telescope, lightbulb, the flushing toilet, camera and roads with tarmac and that was just a few of them!

  4. I would very enjoy either vikings because I like the weapons of war that they use or ancient Greeks because I really like gods and athens.

  5. I agree with Amy it would be great to live in the Victorian times as many of our households appliances were invented then. The only problem is that if I ended being poor, life would be very hard as I would not be able to feed my family.

    • I think you and Amy are correct. It would be interesting, lots of changes happened through this period. Life is actually pretty hard if you’re poor in any time period I think!

  6. I would love to live in the Tudor era. If you were lucky enough you might be able to be Queen for 9 days like Lady Jane Gray. The main reason I would love to be alive in the Tudor era is because of the food and clothes. The food would be wonderfully sweet and even better you don’t have to wash and dry up. The clothes would be exquisite because they would all be handmade and lovely and soft, but you would only get all these luxuries if you had the money to afford them, which most people don’t have.

  7. I would love to live in the Victorian times because I love there beautiful long frilly dresses and the big frilly parasols. They also have big, tall houses with very spacious rooms and a lot of pretty furniture. They also had old taxi like cars. The only thing I did not like about the Victorian time is that the drains exploded and they had to walk around in poo!

  8. I would like to be in the Victorian era because they wore really nice long dresses that have frills and patterns on. But like Bethany said, the drains are really gross, so it would have probably smelt. I also like the Victorian era because they talk verry posh and polite. But I would like to be rich not poor because you could live in a very nice big posh house, not a small house, like a shed.

  9. I would like to live in the Roman times because you could defend yourself. The bad thing is they had so many rules I would not like. For example, dads could kill there child if they committed a crime, but they had so many other things that were nice, like great houses.

  10. I would of liked to live in the ancient Greek time because the olympic games were invented then and I love sports. I wouldn’t of liked the Boxing because people could bite each other ! I also would of liked to help build the parthenon because it is one of the greatest monuments ever. Imagine if the myths were real. I would not of liked to face Medusa…

  11. I would live in the year of the Ancient Greeks. They lived in mainland Greece. The reason why is because I would love to learn more about the Greek Gods, hear the Greek Myths and Legends and be apart of the Olympic Games.
